I served as a squad leader for 7 years under the 1/183rd Attack Helecopter Battalion. My MOS was 68X Armament and Electronics repair. It involved 6 months of training at Ft Eustis, VA followed by extensive OJT at the unit.
It was a great assignment. Not only did I get to work on one of the Army's most advanced helicopters, I also conducted numerous FARP (Forward Air Resupply Point) activites as well as live fire and reload exercises. During one deployment we headed north to Canada and conducted operations with the Canadian Air Force.
Pictures coming soon...
